Description:

Less common conditions such as coarctation of the aorta, persistence of the left superior vena cava, right-sided aortic arch, and dextrocardia are occasionally encountered during diagnostic cardiac catheterization and require basic knowledge of anatomy to make the correct diagnosis.

Examples of these conditions as encountered in the cardiac catheterization laboratory are described and discussed.

You Will Learn

  • To identify the epidemiology of coarctation of the aorta
  • To recognize the angiographic and hemodynamic findings associated with coarctation of the aorta
  • To recognize the anatomic abnormalities associated with persistence of the left superior vena cava, right-sided aortic arch, and dextrocardia

Method and medium:

Learners participate in the interactive learning modules by correctly answering multiple choice questions dispersed throughout. Learners will be prompted to try again if a question is answered incorrectly. The course will open in a new tab - to exit the course, simply close that tab.
