Description:

CHD of the right heart includes pulmonary valve stenosis, pulmonary atresia, truncus arteriosus, and transposition of the great vessels. In this lesson, you will evaluate these common congenital right heart lesions and learn keys to aid in the diagnosis.

Note: This course is eligible for ACPE credit.

You Will Learn

  • Evaluate the key right heart congenital heart lesions commonly seen
  • List some of the diagnostic criteria as well as specific keys to aid in the diagnosis
  • Review classic echo images and standard views for each specific lesion
  • Discuss incidence and prognostic predictors based on fetal echocardiographic findings

Method and medium:

Jeffrey Vergales, MD

Dr. Vergales is a pediatric cardiologist who holds a clinical and academic appointment at the University of Virginia. He attended medical school at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and residency in Pediatrics at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He returned to Charlottesville for cardiology fellowship before taking clinical appointment on faculty as a non-invasive cardiologist.
